Frequently Asked Questions

Stank Destroyer is a powerful odor elimination service. We do not perform detailing, but we do make your stanky cars, trucks and SUVs smell better! The vehicle does not have to be detailed prior to service, but it should be free of trash and debris. If you choose to have your vehicle detailed prior to service, it will make the service even more effective!
-
Our machines will circulate the air in the vehicle. The service is most effective when the air is able to circulate freely and the interior is unobstructed by possessions and debris. If there is visible food, vomit, animal waste, etc. in the vehicle, it should be removed prior to the start of the service.
-
Our service neutralizes odors from organic sources and materials. This includes odors from: Pets, Sweat, Body Odor, Smoke, Food, Mold, Mildew and more!
-
There can be NO PEOPLE, PLANTS, OR PETS IN THE VEHICLE DURING SERVICE. Our machines generate ozone gas, which is harmful to anything living (including odor causing bacteria). However, after the service is complete and some time is given for the vehicle to air out, it is perfectly safe to occupy.

Great Question! This is often caused by bacteria or mold growing inside the vehicle’s HVAC system. We recommend leaving the car running with the AC set to “Circulate” during the service. This will ensure that the air inside the vehicle circulates throughout the HVAC system and has a chance to kill any odor causing bacteria and mold that may exist.
-
Absolutely! In fact, they will be more effective after the service, because they will not be competing with any existing stank.
-
Yes! Please remove the dead thing first, and then we can help! Our machines are extremely effective at odor elimination and neutralization.
-
Yes! Stank Destroyer is mobile, we come to you! We are currently servicing all of Fayetteville, NC. When you request service, please include the address at which you would like the service to be performed. We’ll see you there!
-
Unfortunately, No! The vehicle must have all windows and doors closed for the duration of the service in order for the ozone gas to reach a high enough concentration to be effective.

Ozone gas has a very unique smell. Some people describe it as “the smell of lightning during a storm” or “very sterile”. It dissipates quickly, but a sterile smell may linger for a day or 2 after treatment. After that, your vehicle will smell like…basically nothing. This is a great time to add your favorite air freshener!
